Renowned Artists Shine in “Numaish” at Regional Drama Festival 2025

Rawalpindi: Renowned artists delivered captivating stage performances on the fifth day of the Regional Drama Festival 2025, organized by the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi. This festival is being held under the guidance of Ms. Uzma Bukhari, Minister for Information and Culture, Government of Punjab, with the aim of reviving family theater in the region.

The stage play “Numaish,” presented on the fifth day, captivated the audience. Written by celebrated TV, theater, and radio actor Tahir Siddiqui, the play featured noteworthy performances by Anjum Habibi, Sumaira Malik, Mazhar Malik, Dr. Waqar Azeem, Dr. Shaheen Kazmi, Aqsa Riaz Qureshi, and Tanveer Qazi in the lead roles.

The play explored the experiences, emotions, and societal aspects of an artist’s life, resonating well with the audience. The artists’ performances elevated the standard of family entertainment, and the audience welcomed the return of theater to the stage.

The festival aims to provide a platform for local artists and promote family entertainment. The Punjab Council of the Arts views this initiative as a significant contribution to the cultural development of Punjab.

Festival celebrations continue, with public participation encouraged to support theater activities. A diverse audience, including civil officers, media representatives, senior TV and radio artists, and senior citizens, attended the performance and appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Government and the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi.
