Rawalpindi to Observe 10th Muharram with Procession Commemorating Imam Zainul Abidin

Rawalpindi: Today, the city will host a significant religious procession under the organization of Anjuman Faiz Panjatan to mark the 10th Muharram, a day central to the remembrance of the martyrdom at Karbala. The event will focus on the commemoration of Hazrat Imam Zainul Abidin and will commence at the Imam Bargah Zainul Abidin in Satellite Town, following the Maghrib prayers.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the gathering will begin with an assembly at the Imambargah Zainul Abidin, where the martyrdom of Imam Zainul Abidin, also known as Imam Sajjad (a.s.), will be observed. The highlight of the event will be the ceremonial procession of Imam Sajjad’s coffin, which will travel through the town to its conclusion at Ali Mosque.

This annual procession, held on the 25th of Muharram, serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the tragic events of Karbala. It not only reflects the deep historical and spiritual reflections of the community but also reinforces the values of justice and resilience that are central to the observance.
