Lahore: In an effort to enhance environmental sustainability on campus, the Punjab University Library has launched a tree plantation drive as part of the “Plant for Pakistan” campaign. This initiative, directed by the university’s Vice Chancellor, saw the first tree planted by Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani.
According to University of the Punjab, this campaign is a part of a broader effort to engage staff and students in environmental conservation activities, promoting a greener campus. The initiative also aligns with the national objectives to combat the impacts of climate change through increased green cover.
The library’s participation in this campaign demonstrates a committed stride towards ecological stewardship, intending to foster a sustainable environment for future generations. This tree plantation drive is just one of many steps the university plans to take in its long-term environmental strategy.
