KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has dismissed the recent approval of funds for the K-IV water project, criticizing the claims made by political opponents. Khalid argued that such "paper approvals" will not address Karachi's ongoing water crisis.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid expressed strong disapproval of the alleged 172 billion rupees allocated for the project, condemning the celebrations by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) as insensitive to the citizens' plight. Khalid accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of previously misleading the city with the Hub River project and suggested that the latest financial approval is another instance of deception.

Khalid further remarked that the current government halted the historic funds allocated by PTI during its tenure and accused MQM of compromising Karachi’s interests for personal gains. He claimed that the individuals responsible for supporting the tanker mafia are incapable of resolving the water crisis and criticized the government for failing to complete development projects in the city.

In his concluding remarks, Khalid reaffirmed PTI's commitment to advocating for Karachi's rights and called for accountability of those involved in what he described as political exploitation. He emphasized that the citizens of Karachi have rejected false promises and will express their dissatisfaction in the upcoming elections.
