Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari hosted a dinner at Aiwan-e-Sadr for Parliamentarians from multiple political parties, emphasizing the need for enhanced parliamentary democracy and political stability to advance Pakistan’s development. The event saw the participation of leaders from PPP-P, ANP, PML-Q, and IPP, underlining a collective push toward overcoming the nation’s current political, economic, and security challenges.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, “The President called on political leaders to foster tolerance, respect, and strengthen democratic institutions for better governance and economic prosperity. Key figures including Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, various governors, chief ministers, and senior political leaders discussed the importance of unity and non-confrontational politics to effectively address the pressing issues faced by the country.”
The dinner also served as a platform for proposing various measures aimed at stabilizing the country and alleviating public hardships, showcasing a rare consensus among diverse political factions.
