Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan has conveyed his greetings to citizens, particularly ethnic and religious minorities, on National Minorities Day, underscoring the core principles of equality and justice articulated by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The president highlighted the significance of Jinnah's speech to the first constituent assembly, delivered 79 years ago, which laid the foundation for Pakistan’s 1973 constitution.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari reaffirmed the constitutional commitment to religious freedom and equal protection under the law for all citizens. He praised the contributions of minority communities in diverse fields, such as healthcare, education, and national defense, asserting that these achievements exemplify the integral role every Pakistani plays in the country's progress.
