Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has announced the conferment of the prestigious Hilal-i-Imtiaz on athlete Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his record-setting javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the President’s decision to award Nadeem the civil award comes under Article 259 (2) of the Constitution, which allows the conferment of honors on Pakistani citizens for their outstanding contributions in various fields. The award will be presented at a special ceremony designed to celebrate Nadeem’s remarkable performance.

The President Secretariat Press Wing conveyed that Nadeem’s achievements at the Paris Olympics not only brought glory to Pakistan but also highlighted the nation’s potential in the field of athletics internationally. The President’s directive was followed by an official communication to the Cabinet Division to formalize the award process.
