LAHORE: Pharmacists are crucial in fortifying the healthcare system by ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, promoting public health, and contributing to pharmaceutical research and innovation, according to Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali. He addressed these points during the PU College of Pharmacy's 12th Degree Awarding Ceremony on Tuesday.

According to University of the Punjab, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali congratulated the graduates and their parents, acknowledging the completion of a significant academic milestone. He emphasized the university's commitment to producing competent professionals equipped with knowledge, skills, and ethical values. Addressing the graduates, he urged them to maintain high standards of integrity, compassion, and professionalism in their future careers while highlighting the importance of continuous learning and research in tackling emerging healthcare challenges.

Prof Dr Hamid Saeed, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, highlighted the global reputation of PU College of Pharmacy and the demand for its graduates in the market. During the ceremony, 183 students were awarded the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) degree, and 45 scholars received MPhil Pharmacy degrees. Additionally, the College conferred four gold medals on outstanding MPhil graduates and three gold medals on exceptional Pharm-D graduates in recognition of their academic achievements.
