PCB Women’s U19 T20 Tournament Set To Begin Saturday

Islamabad: Karachi gears up to host the PCB Women’s U19 T20 Tournament, starting this Saturday, September 27. Sixty young female cricketers from all over Pakistan will compete in the 12-day event.

The National Bank Stadium and Oval Academy Ground will be the venues for the 15 scheduled matches. Four teams – Conquerors, Challengers, Stars, and Strikers – will clash in a double round-robin arrangement, with each squad playing six games.

A total prize purse of PKR 1.5 million is at stake, with the champions taking home PKR 750,000 after the final on October 8. The competition serves as a platform for players to showcase their talent and potentially earn a spot in a high-performance camp in November. This camp will then feed into the Pakistan U19 team’s tour of Bangladesh in December.

The four team captains are Haniah Ahmer (Challengers), Samiya Afsar (Conquerors), Komal Khan (Stars), and Zoofishan Ayyaz (Strikers). Each team boasts a 15-member squad, with a mix of players representing various cities across the nation.

The opening round fixtures on September 27th will see Conquerors face Challengers at the National Bank Stadium, while Stars take on Strikers at the Oval Academy Ground. All matches are slated to commence at 3 pm PKT. The subsequent round on September 28th features Stars versus Challengers at the National Bank Stadium and Conquerors against Strikers at the Oval Academy Ground.
