PCB Announces Start of Regional Inter-District Senior Cricket Tournament Across Pakistan

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the Regional Inter-District Senior Cricket Tournament will commence this Thursday, September 5, 2024, with matches scheduled to take place across six regions including Abbottabad, Bahawalpur, Hyderabad, Karachi, Multan, and Sialkot. Additional regions will see the start of the tournament on subsequent dates.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament will extend to eight other regions starting on September 8, encompassing Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Dera Murad Jamali, FATA, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Larkana, Peshawar, and Quetta. Matches in the Rawalpindi Region and Lahore Region are scheduled to begin from September 12.

This expansive tournament will involve 103 district/zonal teams competing in 255 matches across the 16 regions of the country, with over 1500 players participating. The tournament is designed to serve as a talent pool for the upcoming Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the National T20 Cup 2024-25, where teams from the 16 regional sides will compete.
