Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has partnered with Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) to develop a new cricket facility on the university's campus. The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will last for 25 years, as announced by PCB's Domestic Cricket Operations Department.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the agreement involves AUST providing land for the construction of a first-class cricket ground, complete with top-quality pitches and pavilion arrangements. The university will also offer hostel accommodations for players and coaches. The facility will serve as a High-Performance Centre, hosting various training and development activities, and will be the base for regional academy operations.

The initiative aims to nurture local cricket talent and provide consistent training opportunities for students and regional players. The PCB plans to expand its regional academies and enhance player development through this partnership. Senior General Manager of Domestic Cricket Operations, Usama Sharoon, emphasized the importance of such collaborations for the growth of cricket infrastructure across the country.

The PCB's recent agreements, including a similar MoU with Jawad Sports Complex in Faisalabad, highlight its commitment to fostering grassroots cricket nationwide.
