Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia Meets President to Discuss Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: Mr. Irfan Shaukat, Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Australia, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr today. The meeting centered on strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries.

President Zardari congratulated Mr. Shaukat on his new role and urged him to focus on expanding business linkages and promoting Pakistani exports. The discussion highlighted the importance of showcasing Pakistan’s investment opportunities and exploring collaborations in information technology, agriculture, minerals, and energy sectors.

The President also stressed the need for effective consular services to assist the Pakistani community and students in Australia and emphasized the value of enhancing educational and people-to-people connections.

President Zardari concluded by wishing Mr. Shaukat success in his forthcoming responsibilities.
