Dambulla: The Pakistan women’s cricket team, led by captain Nida Dar, is poised to compete in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 in Sri Lanka. The team has completed a rigorous training camp in Karachi in preparation for the tournament, which features eight teams and will be held at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium from July 19 to July 28.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the team is grouped in Group A along with India, Nepal, and the UAE, with their first match against India scheduled for the evening of July 19. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals. Captain Nida Dar expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and emphasized their strategy to play “positive and fearless cricket” throughout the tournament. Additionally, the PCB has announced updates to the team management, appointing Muhammad Wasim as head coach, with Junaid Khan and Abdur Rehman as assistant and spin-bowling coaches, respectively.
