Pakistan to Host Sri Lanka for ODI Series Amid Packed Cricket Schedule

Lahore: Pakistan is set to host Sri Lanka for a three-match One Day International series in Rawalpindi from November 11 to 15, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This marks Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI series in Pakistan since 2019. The announcement also includes Sri Lanka’s participation in a T20I tri-series alongside Afghanistan from November 17 to 29.

The last time Sri Lanka played ODIs in Pakistan was in 2019, when the team engaged in a series that ended 2-0 in favor of the host nation, with one match washed out by rain. Sri Lanka’s most recent visit to Pakistan was in 2023 for the ACC Asia Cup, where they competed against Afghanistan in Lahore.

The PCB’s announcement comes as part of a broader schedule that will see Pakistan host South Africa for two ICC World Test Championship matches and six white-ball games from October 12 to November 8. The itinerary includes Test matches and white-ball games across venues in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad.

The upcoming cricket season promises to be a busy one for Pakistan, with the ODI series against Sri Lanka adding to a jam-packed schedule. The T20I tri-series, featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, marks Pakistan’s first hosting of such a series, and it will conclude on November 29 with a final match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

This series and tournament are expected to draw significant attention from cricket fans as Pakistan continues to host major international cricket events.
