Pakistan Olympic Association Launches IOC Diploma in Mental Health for Elite Athletes


Islamabad: The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has announced a new initiative focused on mental health in elite sports, launching the IOC Diploma in Mental Health in Elite Sport, which will run from September 2024 to June 2025. This program aims to address the crucial aspect of mental health among top-level athletes, providing them with the necessary support and education to manage the unique challenges they face.



According to Pakistan Olympic Association, Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood emphasized the association’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its athletes. The diploma program is designed to equip athletes, coaches, and sports administrators with the knowledge and tools to promote mental wellness, tackle stigma associated with mental health issues, and enhance overall performance through psychological resilience.
