Pakistan Names Squad for ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026

Karachi: Pakistan has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2026, with wicket-keeper-batter Muneeba Ali set to lead the team. Muneeba takes over the captaincy in the absence of Fatima Sana, who is unavailable due to her commitments in Australia's Big Bash League.

According to International Cricket Council, Ayesha Zafar has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team. The batting lineup includes Eman Naseer, Eyman Fatima, Sadaf Shamas, Saira Jabeen, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Gull Feroza. Feroza, recognized for her performance as the best wicket-keeper-batter in the recent National Women's T20 Tournament in Pakistan, offers an additional option for the team's wicket-keeping duties.

The bowling contingent will be spearheaded by Nashra Sundhu, with Momina Riasat, Tuba Hassan, and Umm-e-Hani forming the spin bowling quartet. The pace attack will feature Tasmia Rubab and Waheeda Akhtar as the primary fast bowlers. Pakistan's women's team recently secured a bronze medal at the Asian Games.

The Women's Emerging Nations Trophy, won by Thailand in 2025, will see an increase in participation, expanding from eight teams to ten in this edition. The Pakistan squad aims to make a significant impact in the tournament, showcasing their talent on an international platform.
