Pakistan Celebrates Young Squash Champion’s Victory at US Junior Open

Islamabad: Pakistan’s squash community gathered at Islamabad International Airport to welcome home Harmas Ali Raja, a promising young athlete from Rawalpindi, who secured a gold medal in the Boys U-11 category at the US Junior Open Squash Championship held in Philadelphia. The event, which took place from December 14 to 17, 2024, featured 1,007 players from 51 countries, with Egypt, the United States, and Pakistan emerging as title winners.

According to Pakistan Squash Federation, the returning champion was met with a warm reception attended by federation officials, players, coaches, and squash enthusiasts. A celebratory rally escorted Raja from the airport to the Pakistan Squash Federation headquarters and then to his home in Rawalpindi. The President and Senior Vice President of the federation commended Raja’s performance, expressing confidence in his potential to further enhance his skills and bring more accolades to Pakistan in the future.
