Pakistan Baseball Team Risks Ban and Fines Over NOC Delay

Lahore: In a crucial meeting held by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) in Chinese Taipei, the Pakistan U-18 baseball team faces significant challenges due to not receiving the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan government. The team’s participation in the upcoming Asian Under-18 Baseball Championship in Taiwan hinges on receiving this approval by Tuesday morning.

According to Pakistan Federation Baseball, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the Secretary General, outlined the situation during a press briefing with media manager Perwaiz Ahmed Shaikh. The BFA Integrity Committee is currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding the potential non-participation of the Pakistan team. Without the NOC, the team risks incurring heavy fines and a participation ban, disrupting Pakistan’s longstanding involvement in BFA events. Shah has called on the government to expedite the NOC process, emphasizing the federation’s readiness to provide any necessary documentation to clarify the situation.
