KARACHI: Pakistan’s national junior squash team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Team Championships 2025, following a decisive 2-0 victory over Poland. The matches, which took place as part of the international tournament, saw strong performances from Pakistani players Abdullah Nawaz and Anas Ali Shah.
Abdullah Nawaz secured a win against Poland’s Jan Samborski in a four-set match, with scores of 12-10, 4-11, 11-8, and 11-2. Anas Ali Shah followed with a closely contested five-set victory against Franciszek Michniewicz, ending with scores of 11-7, 9-11, 10-12, 11-5, and 11-3.
The team is now set to face England in the quarterfinals. The progression in the tournament marks a significant achievement for the Pakistani squad as they continue their pursuit of success on the global squash stage. The Pakistan Squash Federation has expressed confidence in the team’s abilities as they prepare for their upcoming challenge.
