Islamabad: NUMS garnered significant recognition at the 5th International Conference of the Pakistan Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) held at Forman Christian College University, Lahore, from April 14-16, 2025. The conference, themed “Stakeholders Engagement in QA Processes,” saw NUMS Consultant QA, Air Cdre (Retd) Muhammad Ismail, receive the second-place award for his presentation on “The Role of Alumni in Higher Education Quality Assurance.”
NUMS, a full PNQAHE member since February 2022, sponsored the event with a contribution of Rs. 300,000. The university also hosted a prominent stall showcasing its institutions, initiatives, accomplishments, and publications, including the “Lifestyle Medicine” program, the “Happiest Healthiest You” initiative, and issues of the NUMS Journal “Life and Science.” A promotional video further highlighted the university’s offerings.
The NUMS stall attracted numerous attendees, including delegates from institutions such as the International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), the American Institute of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, and HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Netherlands. Discussions with international experts like Prof. Dr. Selva Staub, Mr. Jakub Grodecki, and Dr. Alaa Garad explored potential collaborations with NUMS.
The conference participation is expected to enhance NUMS’ visibility and positively influence its yearly progress report and THE Impact Ranking. The NUMS Quality Assurance Directorate acknowledged the support of senior management, the Administration and Public Affairs Directorates, and the QA team for their contributions to the successful event. The organizers also publicly recognized NUMS’ sponsorship and commitment to quality assurance in higher education.
