Karachi: The 2nd National Ranking Padel Cup has begun at the KMC Sports Complex, featuring more than 120 players from across Pakistan. This event, organized in collaboration with Maidan and Play Pro, serves as a qualifying round for the upcoming Asian Padel Championship in Qatar, scheduled from October 14 to 24.

The tournament is held under the guidance of Padel Asia and the International Padel Federation. Players are competing in three categories: men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. The men’s event has drawn the most entries, with 32 teams vying for the major title. The women’s and mixed doubles categories each have 16 teams participating.

On the inaugural day, the men’s matches took center stage, with teams such as Katchi Brothers, Team Maidan, Team Allawala, and Padel Masters securing victories in their respective matches.

Mudassir Arain, CEO of the Pakistan Padel Federation, addressed the media, stating that they plan to hire a foreign coach for the Asian Championship training camp. This initiative aims to ensure better preparation for the players ahead of their first international event.

The women’s and mixed doubles matches are scheduled to take place today.
