Namibia Secures Gary Kirsten as Consultant for Men’s Cricket Team

Windhoek: Cricket Namibia has appointed Gary Kirsten as a consultant for its men’s team, as the nation gears up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026. Kirsten, a distinguished former cricketer and coach, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having amassed 7,289 Test runs and 6,798 ODI runs during his international playing career.

Kirsten’s coaching credentials are equally impressive, with past roles including head coach positions for India, South Africa, and Pakistan. His tenure with India was marked by the team’s victory in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Additionally, he has been active in franchise cricket, notably in the Indian Premier League.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Namibia’s men’s cricket team as they intensify their preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
