Musrat Jamshed Cheema Refutes Allegations Regarding Contact with Retired General Faiz Hameed

Lahore: Musrat Jamshed Cheema, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has vehemently denied claims that she was instructed by PTI founder Imran Khan to contact retired General Faiz Hameed on the day of Khan’s arrest. Cheema affirmed her communication was directed towards PTI leader Azam Swati, contradicting journalist Javed Chaudhry’s allegations of covert communications and misinterpretations within the party.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Cheema expressed her astonishment over the misrepresentation of facts and criticized media figures for spreading falsehoods, calling for media organizations to disassociate from individuals who defame others without evidence. She emphasized her loyalty to PTI’s principles and leadership, especially during critical moments such as the arrest incident on May 9. Cheema highlighted her efforts to contact Swati for urgent matters concerning Imran Khan’s welfare, but found his phone switched off, and described the challenges she faced while being in police custody.

Cheema also refuted any connections with Faiz Hameed, stating that not only were such claims false, but also that she had never been questioned about them by any authorities. She denounced the accusations as lies, underscoring her commitment to truth and the significant personal and financial sacrifices she and her family have made in support of PTI and its ideologies.
