Karachi: In a grand celebration at Meezan House, Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist in men’s javelin throw, was honored by Meezan Bank for his monumental victory at the 2024 Olympics. The event featured the presentation of a cash reward and commemorative honors in front of Meezan Bank staff and distinguished guests.
According to Pakistan Olympic Association, Nadeem received a cheque for Rs. 9,297,000 from Irfan Siddiqui, Founding President and CEO of Meezan Bank, reflecting the bank’s appreciation of Rs. 100,000 for every meter of his record-breaking 92.97-meter throw. Deputy CEO Syed Amir Ali also presented Nadeem with a plaque and medal, symbolizing his significant contribution to sports in Pakistan and marking the country’s first Olympic gold in javelin in 40 years.
The ceremony not only celebrated Nadeem’s athletic prowess but also highlighted Meezan Bank’s commitment to supporting and nurturing Pakistani talent on the international stage. Both Siddiqui and Ali praised Nadeem’s dedication and role as an inspiration for the nation, emphasizing the impact of his achievements on the country’s youth and international reputation.
