Karachi: Workers from various unions are set to gather at the Karachi Press Club tomorrow at 4:30 PM to protest against what they claim is the illegal arrest of Asad Iqbal Butt, Chairperson of the Home Rights Commission of Pakistan. The arrest was carried out by the SHO of Gulbark police station on July 28, 2024.

According to Home-Based Women Workers Federation, the demonstration is organized by the National Trade Union Federation and Alternate in addition to their own members. They are protesting the circumstances surrounding Butt’s arrest, which they believe to be unlawful. The unions have called on the media to cover this event to highlight their cause and bring attention to what they allege is an injustice against a prominent labor rights leader.
