IRI Staff Honor Leader on New Role as Vice Chancellor

Islamabad: The staff of the Islamic Research Institute (IRI) at the International Islamic University Islamabad paid tribute to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq upon his appointment as Vice Chancellor of the University of Narowal. A farewell ceremony was held to mark the end of his nearly twelve-year tenure as Director General of the Institute.

During the event, senior scholars and officials emphasized Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq's significant academic and administrative contributions. His efforts in strengthening research, promoting scholarly engagement, and boosting the institutional profile of IRI both nationally and internationally were acknowledged. Among the speakers were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, Director General of the Shariah Academy, and Prof. Dr. Mohyuddin Hashmi, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University.

The speakers highlighted that his leadership was characterized by a focus on academic rigor, research development, and institutional consolidation, contributing to the Institute's growth.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq expressed gratitude to the faculty, officers, and staff of IRI for their support. He attributed the Institute's progress to collective efforts and expressed optimism about its future advancements.

The ceremony concluded with the exchange of commemorative gestures and the distribution of gift packs by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq to staff members, symbolizing mutual respect and recognition within the IRI community.
