IRD Publication Corner Opens at Radio Pakistan Islamabad

Islamabad: An IRD Publication Corner has been inaugurated at the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Pakistan Islamabad, in collaboration with the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD). The initiative aims to provide a valuable academic resource for anchors and announcers, enhancing the delivery of authentic and reliable information to listeners.

The ceremony was officiated by Director General Radio Pakistan, Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, and attended by key officials, including Director Programs Masarrat Shah Rukh, Station Director Imran Javed, and Program Manager Farhana Barlas.

Saeed Ahmed Sheikh emphasized the importance of connecting the younger generation with the ideas of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, highlighting this as a national need to foster constructive roles among youth in the country's development. He noted that dialogue is crucial for eliminating misunderstandings and promoting societal peace and stability. He praised IRD for its academic contributions.

Masarrat Shah Rukh expressed gratitude to IRD and revealed plans for a new book review program on Radio Pakistan. This program aims to rekindle public interest in reading, starting with weekly reviews of IRD publications.

Nasir Farid, Additional Director at IRD, outlined the institute's objectives, focusing on promoting peace and tolerance through research and academic initiatives. He announced plans to expand the IRD Publication Corner initiative to educational institutions and media houses for broader outreach.

Imran Javed applauded the educational contributions of the International Islamic University Islamabad and stated that Radio Pakistan Islamabad will continue to offer practical training opportunities to the University's media students.
