Islamabad: Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Dr. Mohammad Bagheri, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss issues of bilateral significance.
According to a statement by Pakistan Peoples Party, the meeting underscored the longstanding and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iran, with both leaders stressing the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation for mutual benefit.
The discussions also touched upon the shared challenge of terrorism, with both nations agreeing on the necessity for effective, coordinated measures to tackle this issue.
Additionally, Major General Bagheri expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s stance on Gaza and Lebanon, reflecting a shared perspective on regional matters.
