Karachi: The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) marked Mental Health Day with a series of seminars and interactive activities on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Organized by the Department of Psychology, College of Economics and Social Development (CESD), the event emphasized the importance of mental well-being.
Held in collaboration with IoBM’s Wellness Centre and the Egalitarian Society, the gathering featured prominent health professionals who stressed the need for prioritizing mental health. Among those present were Dr. Nadia Ayub, Dean of CESD; Dr. Sana Sadia, Head of the Department of Psychology; along with various heads of departments, faculty members, and students.
The event included sessions led by noted experts such as Dr. Zeenat Pasha, Mental Health Counselor and Head of IoBM’s Wellness Centre; Dr. Shahid Latif, Consultant Psychiatrist; and Dr. Hina Anis, Holistic Nutritionist. Their discussions provided insights into building mental resilience and emotional strength.
Dr. Zeenat Pasha’s presentation, titled “Rewiring the Resilient Mind: A Clinical Guide to Overcoming Adversity,” was followed by Dr. Shahid Latif’s talk on “Well-being and Resilience in the Age of Social Media.” Dr. Hina Anis concluded with “Building Resilience Through Nutrition in the Age of Social Media.”
The experts shared strategies for coping with mental health challenges and discussed the impact of lifestyle, mindset, and social influences on emotional balance. The seminars aimed to encourage dialogue and enhance psychological well-being within the IoBM community. Attendees also engaged in activities promoting mindfulness, empathy, and stress management.
The event underscored the significance of mental resilience and IoBM’s commitment to holistic education. It served as a reminder of the need to nurture both intellectual and emotional growth in today’s fast-paced world.
