Faisalabad: The Inter-Departmental Football Championship 2025 commenced with an inaugural ceremony at the National Textile University’s football ground. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Baig, Dean of the Faisalabad Business School, officially opened the event. The opening match featured a clash between the Department of Textile Engineering Technology and the Department of Polymer Engineering, with the latter securing a 4-1 victory.
According to a statement by National Textile University, the event was attended by notable faculty members, including Dr. Abdul Basit, an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Muhammad Hashim, and Dr. Zahid Hussain, both Associate and Assistant Professors at the Faisalabad Business School, respectively. Sports Officers Mr. Imran Ali and Pervaiz Akhtar were also present to witness the ceremony.
The championship aims to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among university departments, with several matches scheduled in the coming weeks.
