India to Play Five-Match T20I Series in South Africa Before Women’s T20 World Cup

Johannesburg: The schedule for India's tour of South Africa, which includes a five-match T20I series, has been announced as both teams prepare for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2026. The series will commence on April 17 in Durban and conclude on April 27 in Benoni, offering both teams an opportunity to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the global tournament in June.

According to International Cricket Council, the series will kick off with two matches in Durban on April 17 and 19. The teams will then head to Johannesburg for back-to-back games on April 22 and 25, before wrapping up the series in Benoni on April 27. This will be the first meeting between South Africa and India since their clash in the final of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, where India emerged victorious to claim the title in the 50-over format.

Both teams have been placed in the same group for the T20 World Cup, alongside Australia, Pakistan, and two teams from the qualifiers. The series is expected to provide valuable match practice for the players as they gear up for the international competition scheduled to begin on June 12 in England.
