Islamabad: The 11th Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) meeting at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) focused on enhancing research quality and societal relevance. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President Research and Enterprise, the session evaluated PhD proposals and MS thesis topics from various faculties.
The board provided academic guidance to improve the relevance and impact of research at the university. Prof. Dr. Syed emphasized the necessity of updated research methodologies to ensure that academic work addresses societal needs and offers practical solutions.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, Vice President (Academics), Syed Hassan Aftab, Vice President (A and F), faculty representatives, and research supervisors from multiple faculties. Discussions centered on strengthening research standards and achieving meaningful academic outcomes across disciplines.
