ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) recently held a special ceremony to honor selected drivers and conductors from its Central Transport Unit (CTU) for their professionalism and responsible service in daily student transportation. The event, which included the presentation of appreciation certificates and cash awards, underscored the university's commitment to service improvement and accountability.

The awardees were chosen through a detailed feedback process initiated by the university president, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed. This involved evaluations from students who used a digital system to submit their feedback by scanning QR codes on university buses. The assessments focused on the drivers' and conductors' attitudes, behaviors, and driving practices.

The ceremony was attended by key university officials, including President Alahmed, Vice President for Administration and Finance Syed Hassan Aftab, and Director of the Central Transport Unit Mr. Sajjad Siddiqui. Dr. Saleh Sulaiman A. Alghofaili, Advisor to the President on Student Activities and Male Hostels Affairs, and Dr. Asma Mansoor, In-charge of Protocol and Public Relations, were also present, with Dr. Mansoor hosting the event.

In his address, President Alahmed praised the selected staff, noting that the feedback-driven initiative reflects the university's dedication to improving services through accountability. He emphasized the importance of respectful attitudes and professional conduct, particularly in roles connected with student safety.

Vice President Aftab endorsed the student-driven evaluation concept as an effective strategy for promoting positive behavior and improving the university's community image. He highlighted that merit-based recognition fosters healthy competition and service enhancement.

Director Siddiqui expressed gratitude for the transparent recognition system, noting its role in improving transport services and promoting responsibility among staff, especially regarding the safety of female students.

Dr. Mansoor emphasized the university's commitment to institutional excellence, highlighting how initiatives like this support a culture of ethical conduct and mutual respect.
