IIUI Honors Late Scholars and Families in Prayer Ceremony

Islamabad: The Dawah Academy at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held a solemn ceremony to commemorate late scholars and members of the university community. The event aimed to honor their contributions and offered prayers for their forgiveness.

Faculty, researchers, and administrative staff from both the Old and New Campuses gathered at the Dawah Conference Room for the du’a-e-maghfirat, or prayer for forgiveness. The event sought to pay tribute to the academic, religious, and institutional roles played by the late individuals.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General of Dawah Academy, addressed the gathering with a tribute to the late Professor Dr. Khurshid Ahmad. He highlighted Dr. Khurshid’s commitment to Islamic scholarship and national service.

Dr. Ilyas also expressed sorrow over the passing of Dr. Farkhanda Zia, former Vice President of the IIUI Female Campus. He acknowledged her contributions to the university and her leadership in advancing women’s education.

Special prayers were offered for the relatives of several IIUI community members, including the father of Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Zubairi and the brother of Dr. Zaheeruddin Bahram, among others.

The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer led by Prof. Dr. Haroon-ur-Rasheed, seeking forgiveness for the deceased and strength for their families.

The event underscored the university’s commitment to spiritual solidarity and recognition of its community members’ contributions.
