IIUI Career Expo 2026 Unites Students, Industry, and Researchers

ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) hosted Career Expo 2026 at its Central Library on Thursday, facilitating separate arrangements for male and female students. The event served as a collaborative platform where academia, industry, and researchers converged for career development, innovation, and recruitment.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the expo was inaugurated by Acting Rector and President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, alongside Vice President Research and Enterprise Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed. They reviewed approximately 550 Final Year Projects (FYPs) presented by students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), showcasing solutions in smart farming, traffic management, artificial intelligence, and other contemporary needs.

The expo featured 523 Final Year Projects from various disciplines, 11 university research products, and participation from over 30 industries and organizations. Faculty stalls provided career counseling and academic guidance to students, enhancing the event's scope.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed highlighted the necessity for universities to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for success in a rapidly evolving world. He emphasized that the expo demonstrated IIUI's dedication to enhancing academia-industry connections and offering students opportunities to engage with employers and researchers.

Vice President FPCCI Tariq Jadoon underscored the significance of academia-industry collaboration, skill development, and entrepreneurship. He urged students to embrace continuous learning and adapt to emerging career opportunities.

Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Convener of Career Expo 2026, briefed participants on the event's objectives, aiming to bolster engagement between students, researchers, academia, and industry. He noted that 330 students submitted resumes for employment, while around 190 candidates underwent final interviews with participating organizations.

Industry representatives expressed interest in the students' projects and engaged with participants during the expo, which also included recruitment activities, networking sessions, and career consultations.

The IIUI President commended the efforts of Convener Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Co-Convener Dr. Shahid Ikram, Dr. Salma Imtiaz, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr. Muhammad Aamir, and the organizing team for successfully executing the event.
