IIUI and IPS Forge Partnership to Boost Academic and Policy Synergies

Islamabad: The Faculty of Social Sciences at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in research and policy development. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and policy-making.

The agreement outlines a framework for joint research, publications, academic exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives. Both institutions plan to collaborate on research projects, disseminate scholarly work across various platforms, and foster dialogue among scholars, experts, and policymakers.

Prof. Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at IIUI, and Dr. Khalid Rehman, Chairman of IPS, emphasized the need for integrating academic insights into policy discussions. They noted that such collaborations are crucial for addressing contemporary challenges in society, economy, and governance.

Acknowledgment was given to Dr. Maryam Siddiqa from the Department of Politics and International Relations for her pivotal role in finalizing the MoU. The partnership is expected to promote evidence-based policymaking and enhance academic excellence on both national and international levels.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ambassador Syed Abrar Hussain and Ms. Shafaq Sarfraz from IPS, along with faculty members from all departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences at IIUI.
