IIUI Academic Council Approves Key Academic and Policy Changes

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held its 90th Academic Council meeting, where 35 agenda items were discussed, resulting in the approval of 28 academic and policy initiatives. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, the meeting confirmed the minutes of the previous session and expressed satisfaction with the implementation of past decisions.

Key approvals included new schemes of study for various degree programs, fee structure revisions for undergraduate courses, and the endorsement of B.Tech candidates' admission into four-year engineering programs. The Council also ratified recommendations for doctoral and master's programs across several faculties.

Additionally, the Council endorsed the initiation of a BS Chemistry program, alongside approvals for program structures in BS Statistics (Data Sciences), BS Computational Mathematics, and Artificial Intelligence.

A significant development was the decision to proceed with a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of Planning, aiming to establish a constituent institute of IIUI in Lahore, pending necessary formalities.

The meeting underscored IIUI's dedication to enhancing academic quality and development in alignment with national priorities.
