Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for its Player of the Month awards for July, spotlighting the achievements of six cricketers who made significant impacts in their respective international matches. The list includes three men and three women cricketers who excelled in various formats of the game, from Test cricket to T20 internationals.

According to International Cricket Council, the men’s category features England’s Gus Atkinson, Scotland’s Charlie Cassell, and India’s Washington Sundar, each recognized for their exceptional performances. Atkinson is noted for his impactful debut in Test cricket, Cassell for a record-breaking spell in One Day Internationals, and Sundar for his consistency in T20 matches. The women’s category nominees include Chamari Athapaththu from Sri Lanka, and India’s Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, each having led their teams with standout batting performances.

The winners, chosen through a combined voting process involving an independent ICC Voting Academy and fan votes, will be announced next week. This initiative not only celebrates individual excellence but also enhances fan engagement by allowing cricket enthusiasts to participate in the selection process.
