Islamabad: Karachi’s Institute of Business Administration (IBA) has pledged full cooperation with an investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), according to a statement released on September 23, 2025. The inquiry comes as the FIA seeks documents related to the institution’s financial and administrative operations. IBA leadership emphasized their commitment to transparency and adherence to legal processes.
The business school asserted it has already furnished the necessary paperwork to the FIA and will maintain its collaborative stance until all requisites are fulfilled. IBA underscored that its governance structure incorporates robust internal controls and collective decision-making protocols, precluding any single individual from exercising unchecked authority over financial or administrative affairs.
All approvals, the institute stated, are meticulously documented and processed through committee structures in accordance with established policies. The institution’s financial dealings and procedures undergo multiple levels of scrutiny, including pre-audits, internal audits, and independent external audits by firms like BDO and A.F. Ferguson. Government and special audits are also conducted when necessary. The IBA categorized the current FIA request as standard regulatory due diligence, similar to numerous reviews conducted over the past 15 years.
The IBA appealed for responsible reporting, cautioning against conjecture that might unduly sensationalize the situation or erode trust in the legal process. The institution reiterated its dedication to maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the investigation.
