Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced the Law Admission Test (LAT) for students aspiring to join the five-year undergraduate LLB degree program at recognized public and private sector universities.
According to The University of Haripur, the LAT is set to take place on August 4, 2024, with provisions in place for any necessary date changes due to unforeseeable circumstances. This test is mandated for any aspirant wishing to pursue legal studies under the guidelines laid out by the Supreme Court in its 2018 decision, ensuring standardized criteria for law admissions nationwide.
The test encompasses a variety of subjects including English, General Knowledge, Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Urdu, and Math, with a total of 100 marks and a passing threshold of 50 marks. It aims to assess both the analytical and language skills of the candidates, preparing them for the rigors of legal education.
Registration for the LAT is available online through the HEC’s dedicated portal, with a deadline set for July 23, 2024. The examination will be conducted across major cities in Pakistan, allowing candidates to select a preferred testing center at the time of registration. Additionally, the fee for the test can be paid through specified online services, ensuring a streamlined process for all applicants.
