Karachi: Habib University hosted its Awards Night 2024 on May 30, celebrating the academic and extracurricular achievements of its students and faculty. The event recognized the efforts and accomplishments of the Class of 2024, as well as faculty members, with various awards including the President’s Medal.
According to Habib University, the evening was marked by a series of performances, speeches, and award presentations, beginning with a recitation from the Holy Quran. The ceremony featured opening remarks by Masters of Ceremonies Syed Muhammad Hunain Abbas Zaidi and Maham Baqir, both expected to graduate in 2026. The event included a performance by the HU Orchestra, led by Yousuf Kerai, Associate Professor of Practice, and a reflective video presentation about the journey of the graduating class.
The ceremony provided a platform for faculty and students to share their experiences and insights. Notable speeches were made by Dr. Shah Jamal Alam, Interim Associate Dean & Associate Professor, and Rihha Rehmatullah, a student representative, who shared anecdotes and expressed solidarity with global causes.
Awards were presented for outstanding academic and leadership achievements. Dr. Aamir Hasan, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Wasif Rizvi, President of Habib University, opened the awards presentation. The Deans’ medals and the President’s Medal for exceptional achievement were among the highlights, with Qaima Hossain being recognized as the Class Valedictorian.
The event concluded with a group photo and dinner, celebrating the collective accomplishments of Habib University’s community.
