Karbala: Governor of Karbala, Dr. Nsayif Jassim Al-Khatabi, hosted a luncheon today in honor of President Asif Ali Zardari. The event, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, saw discussions centered on cultural exchange, tourism, and the preservation of historical sites.
President Zardari expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and highlighted the significance of continued cooperation between Iraq and Pakistan. He remarked on the honor of visiting Karbala, a city home to some of Islam’s most sacred sites.
This visit is part of President Zardari’s broader initiative to forge stronger diplomatic and cultural connections within the region. Accompanying him were several key figures, including Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Senior Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Memon, Sindh Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iraq.
