Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was briefed on the regional security situation and various political matters during a series of meetings at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Discussions centered on issues affecting Pakistan's peace and stability, as well as internal political dynamics.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Mr. Gilani first met with Pakistan's Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, to discuss regional security issues impacting Pakistan. Following this, Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan of the International Human Rights Commission presented Mr. Gilani with the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Lifetime Achievement Award.
In additional meetings, Mr. Gilani engaged with Malik Naseem Labour, the PPP City President for Multan, about political matters in Multan and South Punjab. Ali Syed, Chairman of the National Insurance Company Limited, also met Mr. Gilani to report on the company's performance and initiatives.
Lastly, a discussion with Farzand Ali Wazir of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and senior PPP leader focused on the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and party-related affairs.
