Lahore: A delegation from the German Importers Association, led by Managing Director Dr. Michael Arretz, visited the University of Central Punjab (UCP) to discuss potential collaboration opportunities and enhance international market linkages. The visit focused on sustainability, wastewater treatment, and export potential, aiming to bolster UCP's engagement with global industry partners.
According to University of Central Punjab, the delegation, which also included Mr. Sarim Mehmood, CEO of Fruit of Sustainability, engaged in an interactive meeting with UCP Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed. During the session, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, highlighted UCP's key innovation initiatives. These included projects on wastewater treatment, fly ash bricks, and industry-ready prototypes from the food, pharmaceutical, and engineering sectors, which were recognized for their commercialization potential.
The delegation toured UCP's significant research and innovation facilities, including the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Engineering Lab, COFIC, and Takhleeq. The visit also saw participation from the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Director of Innovation, faculty members, and the ORIC team, reflecting a collaborative approach to exploring future partnerships.
