Islamabad: A student from Government College University Lahore (GCU) showcased her athletic prowess on the global stage at the FISU World University Games in Germany. Yasra Ayub, a Bachelor of Computer Science undergraduate, competed in the javelin throw, representing Pakistan at the prestigious event.
Ayub expressed her appreciation for the backing received from GCU and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), acknowledging their role in facilitating her journey to national-level competition, which ultimately paved the way for her international participation.
The GCU student also had a meeting with the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, and the Director of Sports, Muhammad Waseem Akhtar, presumably to discuss her experience at the games.
