Lahore: The French Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Jean-Noël Poirier, inaugurated a newly established classroom and faculty room dedicated to the French programme at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). The inauguration was part of an initiative to enhance the institution's French language offerings and foster stronger academic ties with France.
According to Forman Christian College, the Ambassador was joined by a delegation that included Mr. Marc Piton, Counsellor for Culture and Cooperation; Ms. Noémie Pinta, Press and Communication; and Mr. Fabrice Disdier, Director of Alliance Française Lahore. The visit commenced with a meeting led by Rector Dr. Addleton, alongside FCCU's Vice Rectors and faculty members who are alumni of French universities. The discussions centered on the French minor programme, which aims to boost women's employability in Pakistan, and explored ways to strengthen academic cooperation with French institutions.
The event concluded with Ambassador Poirier and the Rector cutting the ribbon and unveiling a commemorative plaque for the new faculty room. The delegation then toured the classroom, which marks a significant development in providing dedicated resources for French language education at FCCU. This initiative is expected to enhance the partnership between the Embassy of France, Alliance Française Lahore, and FCCU.
