Free Mother’s Day Health Camp Draws Large Crowd in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Aga Khan Maternal and Child Care Centre (AKMCCC) in Hyderabad organized a successful free health camp, drawing women from across the region to receive vital healthcare services and expert consultations.

The event, held on Mother’s Day, sought to raise awareness about the importance of maternal and women’s health, emphasizing the role of healthy mothers as the cornerstone of strong families and thriving communities. Women attending the camp availed themselves of various healthcare services at no cost.

Participants received complimentary general health check-ups, screenings for blood pressure and blood sugar, reproductive health counseling, BMI evaluations, and child nutrition assessments. The camp also offered special discounts on ultrasound services and included discussions on women’s health topics such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause, and fertility care.

Attendees engaged in interactive games and giveaways, enjoying a warm atmosphere that celebrated the essential role of women in families and society.

“Our mothers give so much to their families and communities, yet their own health is often overlooked,” stated Dr. Syed Mairajuddin Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Off-Campus Hospitals at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Pakistan. He emphasized the camp as a significant step in ensuring women, particularly mothers, receive necessary care and attention.

The camp underscores the ongoing commitment of the Aga Khan Maternal and Child Care Centre, Hyderabad, to community outreach and its mission to provide accessible preventive and primary healthcare, especially to women and children in underserved regions.
