Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore marked a significant milestone with the laying of the foundation stone for the Extension Building of its Department of Islamic Studies. The ceremony, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, was attended by university officials and distinguished guests, highlighting the collaborative support from UET alumni in enhancing the institution's academic infrastructure.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the project, backed by UET Lahore alumni, represents a commitment to integrating Islamic scholarship with contemporary knowledge and technology. Vice Chancellor Munir emphasized the importance of alumni contributions in advancing the university's academic mission. The extension aims to create a Model Islamic Centre, focusing on interfaith harmony, digital learning, and comprehensive education blending Islamic studies with modern scientific expertise.

The Vice Chancellor also noted the ongoing success of UET Lahore's BS Islamic Studies with Specialization in Computer Technology program, designed to equip students with diverse skills necessary for national and international impact. Dr. Tanveer Qasim, an Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies, was commended for his role in coordinating this initiative. The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the project's success in fostering future scholars and leaders.
