First Lady of Pakistan Meets with China-Asia-Africa Trade Chief

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, First Lady of Pakistan, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, welcomed Ms Hao, President of the China-Asia-Africa Trade Promotion Office. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation in agriculture and renewable energy.

Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized the potential benefits for Pakistan’s agriculture sector through the adoption of China’s advanced agricultural technologies. She highlighted ongoing efforts to implement efficient irrigation techniques aimed at minimizing water wastage.

The First Lady acknowledged China’s position as a major global investor in renewable energy. She expressed Pakistan’s interest in expanding cultural, tourism, and educational exchanges with China.

Ms Hao noted the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China as an opportunity to deepen cooperation. She proposed initiatives in student and cultural exchanges, alongside vocational training for farmers. An invitation was extended to the First Lady to visit China to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for further collaboration.

The meeting was also attended by Senator Sherry Rehman and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, underscoring the importance of the discussions.
