First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Engages in High-Level Talks on Women’s Empowerment in Bahrain

Manama: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari met with Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), at the Council's headquarters in Manama today to discuss initiatives focused on women's empowerment and institutional frameworks for societal advancement.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, both leaders exchanged views on promoting women's empowerment and inclusive development. The First Lady commended Bahrain's role in empowering women through strategic initiatives under the leadership of the SCW. She expressed admiration for Princess Sabeeka's commitment to advancing Bahraini women and contributing to global women's empowerment.

During the meeting, the First Lady shared insights on her initiatives aimed at empowering women, particularly highlighting Sindh's women-centered recovery initiative following the 2022 floods. This program, led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, resulted in 2.1 million climate-resilient homes, with ownership titles transferred to women, enhancing family security.

Both leaders emphasized a shared vision for fostering inclusive development and programs benefiting families and children, highlighting community resilience, education, and social well-being. The meeting was attended by notable figures, including H.E. Dr. Sheikha Mariam bint Hasan Al Khalifa, H.H. Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, H.H. Sheikha Nayla bint Hamad Al Khalifa, and H.E. Ms. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi.
